CNY Solidarity members and supporters:
Please find below the weekly ACTION ALERTS from Indivisible NY24 and our legislative action teams.
We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, practicing social distancing, and reaching out to anyone you know who may be in need of assistance or connection.
A useful Resource for Organizing and Activism during Coronavirus provided by Indivisible can be found here.
And now, on to the action alerts, which feature several new online training opportunities offered by Indivisible nationally.
Today (April 13)
One phone-calling action today, and one online training tonight
Ensure Elections are safe and secure
Call Senators Schumer (Syracuse 315 423-5471) and Gillibrand (Syracuse 315 448-0470) to urge them to support Senator Warren’s bill that would provide funding to states to expand vote-by-mail. More detail
Indivisible Training: How to Facilitate Online Spaces that Work
8pm via Zoom. More details and sign up here.
Tuesday (April 14)
Demand a People’s Bailout
Use Indivisible’s script to tell Rep. Katko that he should center people before profits and prioritize a People’s Bailout in response to the coronavirus crisis. Ahead of the next coronavirus relief package, we need to do our part to flood the phone lines of our MoCs and make sure they know that their constituents are demanding a people-first bailout. As always, Katko’s numbers are 315-423-5657 (Syracuse), 315-253-4068 (Auburn), or 202-225-3701 (DC).
Then call Senators Schumer (Syracuse office 315-423-5471) and Gillibrand (Syracuse office 315-423-5470) to demand a people-first bailout)
Wednesday (April 15)
Indivisible Training: How to Facilitate Online Spaces that Work

Thursday (April 16)
7pm. Dana Balter virtual town hall.
Dana will take questions from NY-24 residents and talk about the issues that she sees as top priorities for Congress. The event is free and open to voters across New York’s 24th District.
NY-24 residents who want to RSVP can do so here: https://forms.gle/nse7vXV7tXrDL46q8
“I’m looking forward to talking with people from across our district about the issues they care about most. The COVID-19 crisis highlights some serious challenges with our healthcare and economic systems that we need to address. We have to keep these important conversations going even while people are staying home to keep their families and our communities safe. The virtual town hall is a great way to do that,” said Dana Balter, Democratic candidate for Congress.
Friday-Sunday (April 10-12)
No actions at this time. Please continue to practice social distancing, as recommended by local, state, and federal public health authorities.
