Time to Reorganize and Renew the Fight to Stop Fascism

The CNY Solidarity Coalition was borne in November 2016 to fight against the threats posed by the Trump administration to the lives of the racially, economically, culturally and environmentally disadvantaged and challenged communities in our local, state and national populations. Now that he is back in power, he is even more dangerous than he was 8 years ago, especially to our immigrant communities. This week’s election was a shock and left me, for a moment, in a state of despair. The list of frightening possibilities is long, but I refuse to linger on them. The only way to stop a bad person with power is to organize good people to act powerfully. And that time is now. It is time to meet, reorganize and renew the fight to stop the Trump/Vance administration’s assault on our freedoms and well-being. On November 16, we will meet to network with each other, share our reactions to the election, and begin planning for the battle ahead. It will be a re-energizing experience.

Rally for Syracuse Families

Tuesday, November 12th 2024 at 12:00pm

Syracuse City Hall, 333 East Washington St, Syracuse

Families for Lead Freedom Now, NYCLU,  Legal Services of CNY

All our children deserve a fair chance at the start of life. Syracuse children are already burdened by decades of lead paint poisoning. Now, new data and media reports reveal a new source of danger for our children: contamination from many of the 14,000 water service lines made of lead itself. Lines that bring the drinking water into Syracuse homes. It is time to decide that burdening our children with more sources of lead poisoning is unacceptable!
