Hands Off Protest April 5th at 1:00pm

A core principle behind all Hands Off! events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.

Syracuse Fights Back

🚨 Hands off our schools! Hands off our healthcare! Hands off our bodies! Hands off our democracy! 🚨
For those who are able, we’re asking folks to walk, not drive, to Forman Park. Reach out to some friends, pick a meeting place in Syracuse, gather around noon, then march together to Forman Park. We’ll have multiple small marches all converging at Forman around 1pm.

Parking/Meetup Options:

  • University United Methodist Church is offering their parking lots for participants at 1085 East Genesee St. about a half mile walk to Forman Park.
  • Meet at 443 Social Club & Lounge to march .5 miles to Forman Park. Street parking available on Burnet Ave.
  • Westcott neighbors: gather at the Thornden pool lot and plan to start walking at around 12:30. Make your own signs. Bring a drum!
  • Park Central Presbyterian Church at 504 East Fayette Street has a small parking lot that is available.
  • Free parking under I-81 overpass with entrances on North State Street and on James Street. Click here for more parking options.

Riding Centro Buses

You can ride Centro to get to Forman Park Saturday morning, either from your home or, by parking some distance farther away & riding. The bus fare costs $1.

If you have smartphone, YOUR BEST BET IS the Centro App, ‘GoCentroBus‘, on Android Google-Play or Mac App-store. GoCentroBus can tell you where your bus is in real time.

FROM THE EAST => There are 3 buses running from eastern neighborhoods by Forman Park on Sat.

  1. SY 62 Manlius = arrives at Forman Park around 10:00am~10:06am
  2. SY 76 Salt Springs Rd= arrives at Forman Park around 9:55am~10:02am
  3. SY 68 East Fayette St – Erie Blvd = arrives on Fayette, one block north from Forman Park around 10:03am~10:09am

FROM THE SOUTH => There are 3 other buses coming from South of Forman Park, in the general SU neighborhood.

  1. SY 40 SU – Thurber St SU – Nob Hill
  2. SY 40 Drumlins – Nob Hill  (not showing on this map for some reason) You can ride the Nob Hill OR Drumlins bus, then get off anywhere on Harrison St., around 10:05am (SU) ~10:10am Then walk 3 blocks north to Forman Park. The Drumlins bus has fewer rides, so a longer wait. You can wait at SU from arrival @ 8:43am, for the Connective Corridor @ 9:25am, or Nob Hill bus @ 10:05am, which arrive at Forman park a few minutes later. Or walk a few blocks downhill.
  3. The SU443 Connective Corridor schedule is online here https://www.centro.org/Route-Time-Tables/su443 The Connective Corridor arrives at Syracuse Stage, at these times on Sat. = @ 9:39am, 10:19am. Then simply walk 2 blocks east to Forman Park.
