Our plan for the winter months, dependent on health warnings:
- We will schedule one in-person meeting per month.
- An additional Zoom meeting each month will likely be scheduled, depending on issues.
- Meetings will start at 2 PM, followed by in-person Committee Meetings
- In case of inclement weather or other issues, a notification and a Zoom link will be sent no later than 10 AM on the day of the meeting.
- Please wear a mask, and practice reasonable social distancing.
Coordinating Committee needs members! Normally 2 phone meetings per month,with a few tasks in between. If you’ve been wanting to get more involved, here’s your chance! Respond to this newsletter email with your interest.

“…if all states implemented liberal policies on the environment, gun safety, criminal justice, health and welfare, labor, marijuana, and economic and tobacco taxes, more than 170,000 lives would have been saved in 2019. On the flip side, if states went with conservative versions of those policies, there would have been about 217,000 more deaths that year — ‘the equivalent of a 600-passenger airplane crashing every day of the year,’ the study said.”

Join the Fight for The Court NY Deserves.
New York is about to get a new Chief Judge. For the next 14 years, this judge will lead the Court of Appeals—New York’s highest court—and the entire state court system.
Gov. Hochul nominated Justice Hector LaSalle despite significant alarm raised by unions, reproductive rights organizations, Senators, and other New Yorkers concerned about Justice LaSalle’s record. Justice LaSalle’s deeply conservative judicial record includes decisions that are anti-abortion, anti-union, and anti-due process. His decisions make clear that his judicial philosophy is wrong for New York, and that, if confirmed as Chief Judge, he would be a continuation of former Chief Judge DiFiore’s right-wing Court of Appeals.
Use this tool to call on your senator and Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins to reject Justice LaSalle’s nomination and demand a Chief Judge nominee who will protect the rights of workers, tenants, women, incarcerated people, and all New Yorkers.

The 15 proposed projects are part of the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) the City of Syracuse is currently developing with Onondaga County and New York State. Planned projects aim to support natural resource protection, enhance waterfront access, improve multi-modal connectivity options, and provide economic revitalization opportunities. The public input process will help produce a planning document with a community-driven vision for revitalization using specific projects and policies to realize key opportunities.
